Secure Printing

 

Selecting a "-Secure" Printer

1. If the printer you are selecting has -Secure at the end, it has been set up to default to Secure printing.

2. When You Click Print, A Pop Up will request that you put in a PIN.  Type a numerical PIN of your choice and click OK.

Selecting Secure From a Windows Computer

1. Depending on which Application you are printing from you may take a different path to get to the Printer Properties

From a Windows App
(Word, Excel, PPT etc.)
Click on FILE  Print..  Then Printer Properties

From Adobe
(And some other Apps)
Click the Print Icon..  Then Properties

(Google Docs etc.)
Shift + Ctrl + P  Then Preferences

2. In the Output Method drop-down menu select the Secure Print option.

3.  Select YES on the information dialogue pop-up box.

4.  The User Name Field should be populated with your CWRU ID.  In the PIN field, type a numerical pin of your choice and click OK.

5.  Complete your printing selections (e.g. two-sided, color) and continue to print as usual.

 

Claiming Your Document At The Printer

1.  Tap on the Print button on the home screen

2.  Select your documents on the printing queue.  More than one document can be selected at the same time.

3.  Press Start Printing

4.  Enter your chosen pin in the dialogue box and press OK.

Printing jobs sent to the queue using the Secure Print function will be held for 24 hours.  If not printed, the printing job will be automatically deleted from the queue after this period.
