Canon Printer - Install v2.5.9 - MAC OS

Requirements:

Before starting, make sure your computer meets the following requirements:

• macOS Version: macOS 12.5 (Monterey) or newer.
• Network Connection: Must be connected to CaseWireless, Campus Ethernet, or CWRU VPN.
• Permissions: You need to have admin privileges on your MAC device.

INSTALL CANON DRIVER FOR MAC OS

1. Download the program from Software center.  If you do not see it there, then please use the following link to get it installed.

3. Click "Downloads" to locate the 'CWRU Canon Printer Install 2.5.5.pkg' and doubl click. 
   
   
    
4. A screen will pop up sayinig to install the program, Click Continue and you will then have a screen that prompts your for admin credentials.  Please enter those and Install Software.
   
   
    
5. During the install process a Terminal Window will open ip asking " "Installer" wants access to control "Terminal".  Allowing control will provide access to documents and data in "Terminal", and to preform actions within that app."  Click the Allow, button.  Terminal will then turn blue and start the installation process.
   
   
    
6. One the terminal window turns bule it will start checking for preqreauisites on your computer.  One of the things it needs is xcode command line tool, if you do that have it will install it, however installing it as the first step above will speed up installation time.  The speeds of the install depends on your internet connection.  The screen will look like this and you will see it starting the install.
   
   
   1. At the bottom  of your dock, you will see a installer start up.  Click on that to open the windows.  Its a blue icon, with a grey hard drive icon on it.
      
      
   2. On the pop up window click install.  Xcode will then install.
      
      
7. Press Enter to continue after the install finishes.
    
8. Select your school by the number associated with it, then press Enter 
   
   
    
9. Next, Select the print queue you wish to install on your Mac. 
   1. Tip! All Print Queues on the print server are displayed, you may or may not have access to all or any of them. Check with your Systems Administrator. 
      
      
       
10. Next, select the print driver to use based on the copier model. The copier model can be found printed on the physical copier itself. 
    
    
11. Press Enter
    
    
     
12. If you wish to add more print queues to your Mac, press R, otherwise press Enter to exit. 
    
    
     
13. Close Terminal. Next we will send a test print page to ensure functionality 
     
14. Within System Settings, Click "Printers & Scanners" 
    
    
     
15. Click "Printers & Scanners" 
    
    
     
16. Click on a printer you just installed, for example: 'MANDEL-B-375-COPIER on MSASSPRINT', then click "Printer Queue..."  
    
    
     
17. Highlight the printer, then from the menu, select Printer > Print Test Page 
    
    
     
18. Click "Print Test Page" 
    
    
     
19. For the Username, clear out what's there and type "ADS\CaseID" - where "CaseID” is your University username, e.g. abc123. Followed by your University password, then Click OK
    
     
     
20. A test print should be submitted to the print queue.
