This guide provides a step-by-step process for setting the Department ID on Canon printers using macOS, ensuring that users can easily manage their printing settings for better organizational control. You can watch this short video to add your Department ID if you prefer (this code is the same for printing and making copies).
1. Click This Menu Bar
2. Click "System Settings"

3. Click on Printers & Scanners

4. Select the Desired Printer

5. Select Options & Supplies

6. Select "Options"

7. Turn on the toggle for "Department ID Management"

8. Select "Utility"

9: Select "Open Printer Utility"

10, Select "Department ID Management"

11. Select the Department ID Field and Enter your Department ID

12. Click "Save Settings:

13. Select "Allow" at the Pop up Prompt

14. Click on Close Button

15. Click "OK"

16. Click on "Done"

*Note: if you are unable to use the Department ID feature after it has been activated then the printer(s) will need to be uninstalled and reinstalled to make the Department ID feature available.
