Webex Calling Speed Dial Instruction

"Webex Calling" is a cloud-based Unified Communication Service marketed by Cisco that is used at CWRU to provide softphones for the University.  This article documents instructions for configuring speed dial feature in Webex Calling.

If you wish to use the Speed Dial feature in Webex Calling, you must first configure your speed dial contact list.  Afterward, you can dial your speed dial contacts via the speed dial code from your Webex App or your desk IP phone

Configure Speed Dial Contacts

  1. Sign in to Webex User Hub
  2. Go to Settings > Calling > Contacts
  3. Select "Speed dial contacts"
  4. Select "+ Add contact" button

  5. Enter contact information (Name, Phone number and Speed Dial #) and select "Add". 
    • Note:  Maximum number of speed dial contacts is 100 (00-99)
    • The speed dials you create here don’t sync with the speed dials you create on your desk IP phone, but they can be dialed from your desk IP phone.

 

Make a call with a speed-dial code

To place a call to a speed dial contact using your Webex App or Desk IP Phone, dial #, followed by the 2 digits speed dial code, then #.  (e.g.  #04#)

Speed dial button is only available to the desk IP phone (e.g. Cisco IP phone 7821).  User must have an available blank (idle) line key on ether side of your desk IP Phone's screen. 

A speed dial on "line key" is different than the speed dial contacts and speed dial code that were described above.

To add a speed-dial on a line key

  1. Press any idle line key on your phone for at least two seconds.
  2. Hit the down button, Select "2. Speed Dial" and hit Select
  3. Fill in the Label and Number fields and Select Save.

To modify a speed-dial on a line key

  1. Press the line key that has the speed dial configured for at least two seconds.
  2. Hit the down button and Select "2. Speed Dial"
  3. Modify the Label and Number fields and Select Save.

To Remove a speed-dial from a line key

  1. Press any idle line key on your phone for at least two seconds.
  2. Make sure "1. None" is highlight and hit Select
  3. hit OK to confirm deletion.
