Body
- Turn on the device and put it on your head.
- You may have to adjust the head straps
- The top strap is simply adjusted from the loop and then tightened
- The back strap adjusts tightly by pulling it outward, loosen by pushing inwards
- You may want to adjust the eye distance
- This is done dependent on the model (Do not do adjustments unless everything looks blurry)
- Version 3 is an adjustment knob below on the bottom of the lens near your eyes themselves. Moving it one direction or the other moves it in vs out
- Version 3s has an adjustment on the inside of the lens prior to putting it on
- Complete the hardware start-up flow
- If needed, pair controllers by pressing the trigger buttons on both controllers
- Select language.
- Adjust headset height and lens spacing for clarity
- Connect the headset to a Wi-Fi network
- We set up each lens in CaseRegistered for ease of use. CaseWireless and CaseGuest do not allow full functionality when in lens and in apps. If you need help getting lenses into CaseRegistered, assign the ticket to the Managed Endpoint responsible group

- PLEASE NOTE: The Meta Quest uses a Random MAC address. This needs to be changed to device MAC address any time it is set up, reset, factory reset, etc.
- If the headset is not updated to the lates OS version, it will update automatically and potentially restart.
- This will delay set up the first time the device is here at CWRU. The first OS update can take a long time to complete. If it goes into do this, simply plug the device into power and check into it from time to time to continue beyond this stage.
- Once on the pairing screen, press the button “Connect to your organization” at the bottom left. The 5-digit code on this screen is not used for pairing with HMS.
- If your device has been pre-enrolled in the HMS instance beforehand, you might not see this screen and go directly to the next step.

- Click on “Continue” to start enrolling the device or logging in with an account.

- Once on the HMS pairing screen, copy or memorize the 8-digit device code.
- We have whomever is working on the lens send a chat message to whomever is working the HMS side so that there are not miscommunication/spelling errors for this setup.

- After the device has installed the required components to proceed, on the next screen, click on “Continue” to confirm that you want to delegate the management of the device to HMS.

- After a couple of seconds, you will see another screen to confirm the configuration of the headset set by the administrator. Click on “Continue” again

- After a few seconds, you will receive a confirmation that the headset has been configured. Click on “Continue” again.

- The headset will restart automatically. Now, the headset is almost ready to use. You might be asked to complete some of the steps related to usage instructions, privacy and safety. Just click on “Continue” following the instructions.

- (Suggested) Enable the hand and body tracking.

- Finally, you will be redirected to the home menu of the device, and you should be ready to go. Depending on if you are using Mixed Reality or not, you might be asked to set a boundary before proceeding.
- Individual Preset/Mode: look and feel:

- From here you will need to verify your apps show up in the above screen and then you will be able to use them. It may take some time for them to come down and be usable, depending on where they were installed from and/or how large of an install they are.
