Wired Network

Summary

The CWRU wired network operates at speeds up to 1 Gigabyte per second. It consists of both fiber optic and Category 5 Ethernet ports for both data and voice. The network is available to the faculty, staff and students through the use of the ports on distributed faceplates.

Body

The CWRU wired network provides service for voice and data communications with speeds ranging from 1 to 100 Gbps. Wired network ports are accessible for members of the campus community in most but not all locations across campus. 


Registration is required for all personal or university-owned devices that connect to the wired network. Visit Network Registration for more information on registering a device.


Wired port activation may also be required to start service.


Activation requests in university housing should be submitted via the Housing section of my.case.edu.

Activation requests in administrative or academic buildings can be submitted via the UTech Service Desk.
