Body
Note: You will never need a separate Salesforce username/password to log in to Salesforce. You will always log in with DUO SSO. You will need your DUO/SSO username (e.g. abc123) and your DUO/SSO passphrase. This is the same passphrase that you use for other SSO apps across campus.
- Open Chrome > click the three vertical dots at the far right > click 'Settings' > click 'Privacy and security' > expand Third-party cookies
- Under 'Sites allowed to use third-party cookies', click Add, and cut/paste each line below one at a time:
Step 2: Add the Salesforce Gmail extension from the Chrome web store using this link
- You must use Chrome.
- The extension should be whitelisted on all systems, but you may see the following warning message which prevents you from installing it:

- If so, please submit a ticket or email help@case.edu with the subject "Need to add Salesforce extension to Chrome" and the following body: "I am a Sales Cloud user and need to install this extension on my Chrome browser to utilize the Gmail integration. Opening the link shows a red warning message stating 'Your admin has blocked this item (ID: jjghhkepijgakdammjldcbnjehfkfmha)'. Use of this extension was approved by information security following a meeting with the cloud services team on 3/14/25; the official approval date should be on or before 3/31/25. Please advise so I can get the extension installed and set up."
- You can only connect your @case.edu Gmail account; personal@gmail.com accounts will not connect.
- The Gmail integration product is in the process of being re-tooled and re-branded by Salesforce into 'Sales Cloud Everywhere', but this is not fully functional yet.
- Close any Salesforce chrome pages or popups that have opened - do not interact!
Note: You may be prompted to pin to the Chrome browser bar > click the Chrome Extensions icon (puzzle piece). However, we do NOT advise pinning the Chrome extension, because this directs you to their new, not-quite-ready 'Sales Cloud Everywhere' experience.

Step 3: Go to your abc123@case.edu Gmail account and refresh the page
Note: You are going to be prompted to connect and log in to both Google and Salesforce. These instructions assume you will be prompted with the Google connection first, but if 'Log in to Salesforce' is first, skip down to that then circle back to the 'Log in to Google' instructions.
Step 3.1: Log into Google using the email side pane
- As pictured below, the new sliver of a Salesforce pane will be on the right. Click anywhere on it to expand > click 'Log In to Google'

- Choose an account to continue to Lightning for Gmail > select your abc123@case.edu account

- Sign in to Lightning for Gmail, review the Privacy Policy, then click Continue.

- Thoroughly review Salesforce's access to your Google account. For full integration functionality, choose 'Select all', then click 'Continue'.

- Finally, confirm that you want to link your abc123@case.edu Gmail to your abc123@cwrucorp.case.edu Salesforce Sales Cloud account.

Your 2 accounts are now linked! You can click 'Go to Salesforce', but if it seems like nothing happened, don't fret and continue to the next step.
Step 3.2: Log into Salesforce using the email side pane
- Go to your Gmail account > expand the Salesforce pane on the right if it’s collapsed > click Log In to Salesforce

- The side pane will display Salesforce's generic login page. Do not enter your username and password here. To get to our CWRU Corporate Sales Cloud login page, ALWAYS select 'Use Custom Domain' and type 'cwrucorporate' (which will direct to https://cwrucorporate.my.salesforce.com).

- If you are already logged into Salesforce, the integration will open in Gmail without prompting you for SSO/DUO because you already signed into Salesforce with SSO. If you are not already logged into Salesforce, the integration will direct you to our Sales Cloud login page where you will click ‘Log In with CWRU Corp SSO’.

When you log out of Salesforce, this will log you out of every open Salesforce window, i.e. both Gmail side pane and browser tabs. For security, we have set the automatic logout after 4 hours of inactivity. You can follow the directions for Step 3.2 to log back in.
Note: If your side panel ever prompts you with "This Side Panel is Moving", Select "Maybe Later" and DO NOT select "Try it Now". The new
Sales Cloud Everywhere experience is not functional and there will be errors!
