Summary
When first arriving on campus some CWRU students, faculty or staff may be unable to connect their devices to the CareWireless network, which requires users to login with their university account. However they are able to connect to CaseGuest, the wireless network available to any visitors on campus. It's recommended for everyone with a valid university account to use CaseWireless because it is a more secure network.
Body
CaseWireless is the recommended secure network for students, faculty, and staff on compatible devices. A valid CWRU account is required in order to connect.
CaseGuest is available for visitors as an Internet-only connection and has limited access and security standards compared to CaseWireless.
CaseRegistered is intended for devices owned by students, faculty, and staff that are not compatible with CaseWireless. These typically include printers, gaming consoles, streaming media, and IoT devices. Registration is required in order to connect.
For security reasons, keep your passphrase private. Do not share it with anyone, including UTech technicians, nor include it in an email. No one at CWRU will ask you for it.
Remember the UTech Service Desk is available to you 24x7x365, even from home while on breaks. So for assistance with any technology product or service at Case Western Reserve University, contact them at help@case.edu, 216.368.HELP (4357) or visit help.case.edu.
