Meta account added to HMS via Enterprise apps in Entra ID

 

Navigate to https://portal.azure.com:

Click on Enterprise applications:

Click in the search bar just above the list of applications available.  Type in Meta:

Click on the Meta Work Accounts:

Click on Users and groups under Manage (you may have to click on the > to expand):

Verify that Meta Test group is listed here.  Make sure you add the account to the group as well.

Click on Provisioning under Manage:

PLEASE NOTE: After the first 5 accounts in the group, you must utilize the provision on demand to add additional to pass on to the HMS system.

Find Provision on demand on the left under Overview, click on it:

Search in the box provided for the account or accounts you just added:

Once you find the account you wish to add, click on it from the menu that appears:

This will add it to the field fully named.  Click on Provision in blue at the bottom:

It will go through the processes that it needs to provision the account.

PLEASE NOTE: if it says Skipped on the final action (#4 on the left side of the screen) continue on or if you would like to retry you can.  Most times it is able to process fully even with the Skipped action.

Keep this window open, but open a new instance of your browser and go to work.meta.com:

Click on People on the left blade:

Verify that the account we just provisioned is there.  Once found, click on it to verify settings:

If you click on Access you will see it has no access:

Close out of that mini blade by clicking on the x in the top right corner.

Click on the Admin roles under the People blade on the left side:

Click on the Quest device admin:

Click on the Individuals tab on the right blade:

Click on the + Assign role to the individuals button on the top left:

Click in the box.  If it is the only account not assigned anywhere it will auto show when you click:

Click on it or type it out to get it listed in this box:

Click on Assign role button at the bottom right of that mini blade:

A message will come up and a code will be sent to the logged in user for verification.  Put in your code and hit Continue:

Note the message in the bottom right.  Click on the account again, then the Access tab:

Note the change to Quest device admin at the bottom that wasn’t there before.  Now this device can be used to sign into devices as well as into the HMS portal to do device setup.
