CloudConnexa (formerly OpenVPN Cloud)  provides remote users with secure VPN connections to the campus network via a SSL encrypted tunnel. OpenVPN Connect client software requires users to authenticate using Duo Two-Factor Authentication in order to establish a VPN connection to the University network. Importing Recommended OpenVPN Connect Settings for Windows and macOS

This page documents how to import the recommended settings for the OpenVPN Connect app.  If you have any issues with OpenVPN connection, importing the recommend settings may help resolve those issues.  If you have any issues with importing the settings, please contact the Helpdesk at 216-368-HELP for further assistance.

Note:  The instruction listed here is for modifying the settings for the OpenVPN Connect app.  Please make sure you also have the VPN Profile imported as well (more info).


How to import recommended settings for OpenVPN Connect app for Windows and macOS

  1. Download the recommend settings file:
    1. For Windows users, download the .ocfg file here.
    2. For macOS users, download the .ocfg file here.
       
  2. Unzip the download zip file.
     
  3. Locate the .ocfg file
    1. For Windows users:  openvpn-win.ocfg
    2. For macOS users:  openvpn-mac.ocfg
       
  4. Double click and open the .ocfg file
     
  5. OpenVPN Connect app will open and the "Import .ocfg configuation" message appearsUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  6. Click "OK" to import the .ocfg configuration
     
  7. Verify that the .ocfg configuration file has been imported successfully.  Click "OK" to continueUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  8. Recommended settings for the OpenVPN Connect app has been imported successfully.
