"Webex Calling" is a cloud-based Unified Communication Service from Cisco that provides softphone calling technology for CWRU phone users. This article documents the installation and set up for SMS Texting using the Webex Calling app. NOTE: "SMS Texting" is an add on subscription ($6/month) to your Webex Calling account.
About Webex Messaging
Webex Messaging is an instant message feature available in the Webex app and is found under the "Messaging" tab. Similar to Google Chat, you can start a conversation with other Webex users. Webex messaging refers to each conversation as a "space".
Note: Please verify your message recipient has been provisioned with Webex Calling and using Webex Messaging. Otherwise, you may not receive any response because your recipient is not using the Webex messaging feature.
About SMS Texting using Webex App
You can send and receive SMS messages using your Webex Calling CWRU phone number to your cell phone recipient.
