How to request a Tableau Creator license
The office of Data Management, Analytics, and Visualization offers Tableau creator licenses for purchase to faculty and staff that wish to conduct analytics for business purposes. Please submit a help ticket to initiate a consultation for your analytics needs and to discuss pricing.

Instructions for Downloading Tableau Desktop and Activating your Creator License
When you get an automated email from Tableau, please register with your case network id email address rather than an alias email address.
Install Tableau desktop application - https://www.tableau.com/support/releases
After you download, select Activate Tableau when opening your desktop application (see image below). Use the license key that you have been issued by the office of Data Management, Analytics, and Visualization to activate your application license.
Alternatively, in the Tableau desktop application you may select Help on the top menu bar and select Manage Product Keys. You can activate or manage your license key there as well.
When you purchase a Tableau Creator license you also have access to Tableau Prep Builder to help you manage your data. The same activation key should be used for Tableau Desktop and Tableau Prep Builder. To download Tableau Prep Builder please see https://www.tableau.com/products/prep/download.

Renewing your Tableau Creator License
All Creator licenses are renewed annually at the same time (currently January 29th). Someone from the Office of Data Management, Analytics, and Visualization will reach out to you in October to determine if you would like to renew your license and to obtain a speedtype that should be charged. Since this is a coordinated effort across the university this process takes time so we appreciate your patience.
For those that purchase new licenses throughout the year, all licenses are prorated and co-termed with the rest of the university licenses. Therefore, everyone will be on the same renewal cycle for cost efficiency of the university.
