WiFi calling is a carrier-dependent feature that enables text and calling services over WiFi. This feature is available on most current smartphone models. If you frequently experience weak cellular coverage, we recommend enabling WiFi Calling as a way to improve service.
WiFi Calling is disabled by default and must be activated in your smartphone settings. Once enabled, your phone will automatically switch to WiFi calling when cellular service is insufficient.
WiFi Calling Instructions by Carrier
Please refer to the instructions below based on your cellular carrier.
WiFi Calling and Emergency Services
When enabling WiFi Calling you will be required to enter your location information for 911 service. When placing a call to 911, the cellular network will be used if possible. In the event that a 911 call is placed over WiFi, nearby location data will be used, along with the address entered during setup. Please ensure this address is accurate and up to date for emergency services.
