Webex Calling Voicemail Greeting Instruction

"Webex Calling" is a cloud-based Unified Communication Service marketed by Cisco that is used at CWRU to provide softphones for the University.  This article documents instructions for configuring voicemail greeting feature in Webex Calling.

There are two main types of voicemail greeting:  Busy and No-Answer.  Busy greeting is played when you are on another call and call-waiting feature is not available.  No-Answer greeting is played when you do not answer your call.  There is also a Extending Away Greeting which will be explained later in this article.

 

To listen or record your Name Recording:

  1. Call the Webex Voicemail Portal at 216-754-1600
  2. Enter your 10 digits Mailbox ID, followed by the # key.
  3. Enter your PIN
  4. Main Menu:  Press 3 to access your greeting menu
    • Press 1 to record your name.  Follow prompts

 

To listen or record your Busy / No Answer Greeting:

  1. Call the Webex Voicemail Portal at 216-754-1600
  2. Enter your 10 digits Mailbox ID, followed by the # key.
  3. Enter your PIN
  4. Main Menu:  Press 1 to access your voicemail menu
  5. Select the greeting you want by pressing the appropriate button below:
    • Press 2 for busy greeting
    • Press 3 for no answer greeting
  6. Follow prompts to listen and/or record greetings

 

Extended Away Greeting

A third type of greeting is Extended away greeting.  Extended away greeting is played when you enabled Extended Away Greeting feature. Callers hear your Extended Away Greeting after the first ring. Once set, callers will not be able to leave a message, which means your mailbox doesn't fill up while you're out for extended period of time.

 

To listen / record / activate your Extended Away Greeting:

  1. Call the Webex Voicemail Portal at 216-754-1600
  2. Enter your 10 digits Mailbox ID, followed by the # key.
  3. Enter your PIN
  4. Main Menu:  Press 1 to access your voicemail menu
  5. Press 4 for Extended Away Greeting
  6. Press 3 to record your Extended Away Greeting.  Follow the prompts.
  7. To activate your Extended Away Greeting, press 1
    (Your Extended Away Greeting is activate.)

To deactivate your Extended Away Greeting:

  1. Call the Webex Voicemail Portal at 216-754-1600
  2. Enter your 10 digits Mailbox ID, followed by the # key.
  3. Enter your PIN
  4. Main Menu:  Press 1 to access your voicemail menu
  5. Press 4 for Extended Away Greeting
  6. Press 2 to deactivate the Extended Away Greeting.
