- Open Terminal (Go > Applications > Utilities > Terminal) or use Spotlight Search to find Terminal.
- In the Terminal window, type Xcode-select --install
- Quit Terminal
- Alert! You must QUIT Terminal completely before continuing (Don't just close the window. Close it completely by clicking Terminal > Quit Terminal)
- Download the CWRU Canon Printer Install 2.3.0.pkg
- Click "Downloads" to locate the 'CWRU Canon Printer Install 2.3.0.pkg' and single click.
- A warning will appear that reads: "Apple could not verify “CWRU Canon Printer Install 2.3.0.pkg” is free of malware that may harm your Mac or compromise your privacy."
- Click "Done"
- Open System Settings (Apple Menu > System Settings...)
- Scroll down and Click "Privacy & Security"
- Locate the "CWRU Canon Printer Install 2.3.0.pkg" warning and Click the 'Open Anyway' button
- Click "Open Anyway" in the confirmation window
- Type in your Mac administrator username and password and click OK. The installer with launch.
- Click Continue
- Click Install
- Click 'Allow' to "installer Would like to Modify Apps on your Mac."
- Click "Allow" to control 'Terminal.
- A Terminal Window launches. Follow the step by step instructions to install the desired printer(s) you have access to:
- Press Enter to continue
- Select your school by the number associated with it, then press Enter
- Next, Select the print queue you wish to install on your Mac.
- Tip! All Print Queues on the print server are displayed, you may or may not have access to all or any of them. Check with your Systems Administrator.
- Next, select the print driver to use based on the copier model. The copier model can be found printed on the physical copier itself.
- Press Enter
- If you wish to add more print queues to your Mac, press R, otherwise press Enter to exit.
- Close Terminal. Next we will send a test print page to ensure functionality
- Within System Settings, Click "Printers & Scanners"
- Click "Printers & Scanners"
- Click on a printer you just installed, for example: 'MANDEL-B-375-COPIER on MSASSPRINT', then click "Printer Queue..."
- Highlight the printer, then from the menu, select Printer > Print Test Page
- Click "Print Test Page"
- For the Username, clear out what's there and type "ADS\CaseID" - where "CaseID” is your University username, e.g. abc123. Followed by your University password, then Click OK
- A test print should be submitted to the print queue.
