Tableau for Students makes the software available to students free of charge. “Students (K12 and postsecondary) at accredited academic institutions worldwide are eligible for a free one-year license to activate Tableau Desktop and Tableau Prep.“ Students must complete the request for (https://www.tableau.com/academic/students-> Get Tableau for Free) to receive an activation code.

Alternatively, a faculty member using Tableau in their class may request an activation code for their class and distribute it to students.
